Discord Etiquette

2 rules

The league lives in Discord between games. Keep it usable for the thirty GMs who share it:

  • Use the right channel. Trade talk in the trades channel, scores where scores go, trash talk where trash talk goes. The league's automated posts — scores, trades, news, pacing reminders — land in their own channels; do not bury them.
  • Announcements are the source of truth. Deadlines, settings, format calls and rulings get posted by the office in Discord. If it was announced there, "I didn't see it" is not a defense.
  • Keep it human. Chirp, celebrate, argue about the game — but harassment, spamming and dragging a private beef into every channel are conduct problems, ruled under Playing in Good Faith.

Venting in chat is not filing. A close game that felt wrong, a rule you think someone broke, a result you want corrected — none of that gets ruled on because you posted about it in the group chat.

Bring it through your league's dispute process instead: the specific game, the specific rule, and the clip. That is what the office rules on, and that is what protects you when someone brings a case against you. Chat is for the league's life; the office is for its rulings. Keep them separate and both stay pleasant.
