Rosters & Free Agency

2 rules

Your roster is yours to build inside your MyNBA — lineups, rotations, development, the players you sign and the ones you let walk. Play the team you were handed into the team you want.

  • Field a real rotation. Set honest lineups and minutes; do not park a superstar at the end of the bench to game a matchup or manufacture a tank.
  • Keep your roster legal. Stay inside the league's roster size and any roster rules your commissioner has posted. If your league runs salary-cap guidance, the cap figures are shown to help you plan — treat them as the guardrail your commissioner intends.
  • Injuries and fatigue are part of the game. Manage them; do not exploit a workaround to erase them if your league runs them on.

Free agency is how you fix a roster hole the draft and your current group cannot.

  • Sign freely inside your league's rules. Who is available and what they cost is driven by the game and by your league's settings; this rulebook publishes no separate price list.
  • A signing is a real move, not a loophole. Cycling free agents to dodge a roster rule, or stashing talent you will never play, is roster laundering — your commissioner can decline it.
  • Log what the league asks you to log. If your commissioner tracks signings or moves somewhere, keep that record honest. Blanks and guesses break the league's picture for everyone.

Anything free agency does not settle is a Playing in Good Faith question — brought to the office, ruled in context.
