Score Reporting & Box Scores

Every game owes one posted score. The rule is simple:

• One GM logs the final once the game is over. Either side may be the one to post it; what matters is that it goes up promptly and it is right.
• Your opponent can raise a dispute flag if the score is wrong. A disputed game goes to the commissioner, who settles it from the film and the box score — which is exactly why you keep both.
• Against an inactive or CPU-controlled opponent, the human GM logs it, win or lose. The CPU cannot post a score.
• A game left unlogged is a pacing problem. The office will eventually have to log it for you, and that is the kind of game that draws a fine. Post the score yourself and none of that happens.

After the game, capture the Team Comparison screen — the post-game screen with both teams' totals side by side — and attach it to the logged game. It is optional, but it is the best five seconds you will spend on this league.

• The screenshot's team totals become the game's official box score: points, rebounds, assists, shooting, turnovers and the rest.
• It feeds the league — team stats pages, standings context, recaps and highlights all read from it.
• No player-name box scores are needed here. The Team Comparison screen carries team totals only, and that is all the league asks you to share for a normal game.
• A game without a box score still counts and still logs a score; it just shows as a plain "A vs. B" matchup until someone attaches the screenshot.

In 2K there is no "I was home" checkbox on a logged score, and the league does not take anyone's word for who hosted. The venue comes from the Team Comparison screenshot: the away team is on the left, the home team is on the right, and you confirm that orientation on the review screen when you attach it.

How much the schedule already knows depends on your league's length:

• In 29- and 58-game leagues, the screenshot is the only venue source. A game with no box score has no confirmed home team and shows as a neutral matchup until someone attaches one. Want your home games to count as home games? Post the screenshot.
• In 82-game leagues, the schedule already plans who hosts — the full-season format lays out each team's home and away games in advance, so the matchup knows its expected venue before a game is even played. The box score still records the game that actually happened; post it so the stats and the result are on file.
• Postseason games always wait on the screenshot for their venue, in every league.
