Stragglers, Fines & Sims
When a checkpoint passes with games still owed, the office has two tools, and both are your commissioner's call:
- A pacing fine. Overdue games can carry a Legacy Points fine against the GM who owes them. Your commissioner sets the fine amount. It is booked one game at a time, with the reason attached, and reversed if it turns out the game was not really owed.
- A sim. A game that will not get played can be simmed so the season can move on. A simmed game earns zero Legacy Points for both sides — see Legacy Points & Discipline. The commissioner decides when a game has waited long enough.
Neither of these is a punishment for playing a hard schedule. They exist for one reason: to protect the twenty-nine GMs who got their games in from the one who did not. The cheapest way to never see a fine is to play on time.
